Goals of the Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) Diploma

·         Teach and develop effective methods for teaching and learning the five language skills: reading, writing, listening, speaking, and pronunciation, using innovative approaches suitable for students.

·         Provide strategies and techniques for simplifying complex language concepts and rules in a simple and understandable manner for students of different language proficiency levels.

·         Develop skills and techniques for lesson planning that ensure maximum benefit from the time and effort spent in the classroom.

·         Teach how to effectively manage classrooms during study periods, including understanding student behavior and employing effective methods to deal with potential challenges.

·         Provide diverse instructional formats that cater to the needs and levels of different students, encouraging inclusive and effective participation in the learning process.

·         Develop the ability to create diverse and comprehensive educational curricula that include a wide range of texts and informational materials to effectively meet the needs and levels of students.

These goals aim to equip teachers to provide an effective and stimulating learning environment that enhances comprehensive and integrated English language learning for students from various backgrounds and language proficiency levels.

The duration of the diploma is 120 hours, structured as follows

  • 40 hours of theoretical study: During this phase, participants will delve into the latest theories and teaching methods in the field of TEFL, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the foundational principles.
  • 32 hours of practical training in classrooms: Participants will engage in hands-on teaching experiences, conducting lessons with actual students and receiving feedback from their trainers. This practical component aims to help participants overcome any apprehensions or fears associated with teaching.
  • 10 hours of research and readings: Participants will dedicate time to independent research and readings, enabling them to acquire additional knowledge and resources. This segment emphasizes self-reliance and the ability to continue learning beyond the course completion.
  • 30 hours of observing real lecturers: Participants will have the opportunity to observe experienced educators in action, gaining insights into their teaching methodologies and gathering ideas for their own instructional practices.

Overall, this structured approach ensures a well-rounded learning experience that combines theoretical knowledge, practical skills development, independent research, and exposure to real-world teaching scenarios. By the end of the program, participants will be equipped with the necessary tools and confidence to excel in the field of TEFL.

The student must have 100% attendance at entry sessions, commit to submitting assignments on schedule, prepare and deliver TPs before the scheduled dates, and interact with the lecturer/trainer during the lessons.
He must pass the placement test with a grade of C1 and pass the speaking test.
